about the job

Core Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
  • Ensuring costing templates are up to date at all time and that correct ones are being used in the division. Original approved full costing are to be kept by Dept .
  • Ensure timely and accurate maintenance, safe keeping and submission of relevant report and documents as required, including large bids / tender / costing reviews – minutes of meeting etc.
  • Maintains and organize up-to-date, accurate, secure, confidential records / inventories or assets / equipment and information used in Dept operation including costing and related documentation.
  • Ensure the Department has up-to-date information on outstanding corrective action plan information.
  • Maintain an effective documented results driven program. This is to ensure that actions are carried out by self and those responsible on time, every time.
  • Ensures that costing, which are confidential documents, are safe and secure at all times.


Financial Dimension:
  • Oversee accounting activities in compliance with the company policies and procedures and responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting and statements
  • Timely and accurate processing of accounting transactions on the computer system, maintaining accurate and detailed records with supporting documentation
  • Management of the accounts receivable function, implementing effective credit control measures to ensure that cash flow is maximized
  • Management of payroll, ensuring scheduled and actual hours worked does not exceed contractual manpower requirements
  • Preparation and timely submission of accurate forecasts of monthly results, facilitating implementation of proactive measures to obviate unacceptable outcomes
  • Analysis and evaluation of monthly accounts, reviewing actual performance against budget, identifying trends and highlighting variances, providing accurate management information
  • Effective coordination of litigation, insurance and other claims
  • Interpret operating results, make specific recommendations and implement initiatives which will result in cost reduction and profit improvement
  • Responsible for submission of timely statutory reports, tax, annual budgeting, forecasting and any other management reports, as required from time to time
  • Manage the treasury function and act in conjunction with group treasury to ensure efficient cash management and sufficient funding in either shareholder funds, treasury loans and/or bank borrowings to meet investment and operational requirements;
  • Ensure effective Treasury, Cash Flow, Financial Risk, Resource and Cost Management
  • Organize audits and tax computation
  • Dealing with banks, financial institutions and other suppliers and service providers


skills & experience required

Requirements:
  • Degree in Commerce or equivalent and technical accounting qualifications. An MBA would be an advantage
  • 6 years work experience in finance management
  • Good analytical, planning & organizing, persuasion and people management skills
  • Preferably Manufacturing background , advantage .
