JOB DESCRIPTION • Strategize IP proposal for international clients
• Ensure Patent documents are handled and processed in a timely manner in order to comply with appropriate regulations and datelines
• Patent portfolio managements
• Assist in sourcing international associates and liaise with foreign associates
• Attend to IP enquiries
• File & archive all documents and letters to Malaysian Intellectual Property Corporation
• Prepare and handle PCT applications and foreign filing
• Filing and prosecuting applications up to grant
• Reviewing specifications, search and examination reports
• Able to conduct search and assist in all patent related matters
• Issuance invoice to clients, drafting patent specifications
• Conduct FTO, prior art search & IP due diligence, conduct IP audit Exercises and IP workshops/clinics
JOB EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• At least 5 years’ experience in related field
• Preferably Senior executive specialising in IPR law/patent related subject matters
• License to practice law in the Malaysian court
• Experience in preparing trademark, copyright applications, documents and letters to Malaysian Intellectual Property Corporation.
• Experience in preparing memorandum of understanding, non-disclosure agreement, Deed of assignment, collaboration Agreement, outright sale agreement, Licensing Agreement, technology transfer agreement.
• Work experience involving filing and prosecuting industrial design and trademark applications up to grant in Malaysia for local and overseas client
• Experience liaising with Malaysian Intellectual Property corporation, mainly trademark office
• Able to conduct FTO, IP due diligence and trademark valuation
• Able to develop capacity building for Malaysian law and trademark domains
Other Requirements:
• Good communications skills, both verbally and in writing
• Strong business writing skills
• Good organisational skills with ability to prioritise deadlines
• Resourceful and meticulous
• Mature and ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people and organisations
• Familiarity with the Malaysian IP Law and regulations is an asset
