Job Description

• Develop understanding of Aspera’s software solution implemented.

• Develop and maintain engineering standards for Aspera’s platform design and deployment.

• Advanced level / third level troubleshoot issues in the deployment of Aspera's high-speed file transfer software in enterprise environments. This includes troubleshooting networking, web apps, operating system, file system and user management issues, typically by phone, email and web meetings.

• Continuously monitor updates to Aspera’s product development and assist the service improvement team in proposing improvements / changes to the deployment

• Communicate effectively with transition, project management & operations representatives to ensure service design is well understood, and service improvements are implemented according to design.

• Work closely with Support team to ensure all software upgrades are done properly, and patches, critical updates are installed accordingly.

• Contribute to the establishment of consistent, efficient, and re-usable software engineering processes that are based on industry best practices.

• Act as the SPOC for the Asperasoft solution.


• Strong scripting skills in at least one scripting language - Shell, Ruby, Perl, Python, PHP, etc

• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP protocol operation

• Strong hands-on knowledge of *NIX/Linux/Windows system administration (OS, networking, security, databases, web services)

• Experience developing and deploying systems in high availability environments

• Strong knowledge of storage systems and hardware performance analysis

• Broad expertise spanning the entire IT stack from platforms and OS, database, networking, Internet security and various enterprise systems

• Solid working knowledge of directory service configuration (LDAP and Windows Active Directory)

• LAMP-based development experience

• Basic web server (Apache or IIS) and database server (MySQL) administration.

• Experience in distributed web services (REST, SOAP), and web front-end technologies

• Knowledge on Asperasoft products would be an advantage

• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills, including comfort with common debuggers, packet analysers and trace tools.

• Familiarity with ITIL Service Management lifecycles and frameworks. Certification will be an advantage.
