  Job Description
  Position objective:

- Ensure iSeries (AS/400) system are operational without impacting the business operations and meets the Service Level Agreement (SLA) with the users.

- Ensure iSeries (AS/400) system continuity readiness for any eventuality that may disrupt the business operations.

- Ensure compliance with Group IT Strategic Initiative, IT Standards and Procedure, and Regulatory requirements.

- Ensure iSeries (AS/400) system and its related infrastructures readiness to support applications enhancement for business change requirements.


BAU (70%)

- Perform the following system activities in order to ensure the systems are operating efficiently that meets the users SLA target and able to support business continuity in the event of disaster.

- Incident management to resolve issue as soon as possible when arises with the least impact to business operations.

- Problem management by performing analysis, root cause determination and implement solution to prevent future occurrence.

- Capacity Management in which semi-annual capacity planning will be performed for ensuring that IT capacity is matched to the agreed current and future business demands.

- Ensure that all services of iSeries can be recovered in line with the agreed business needs, requirements and timescales by performing periodic system recovery and testing or Disaster Recovery (DR) testing.

Projects and System Compliance (30%)

- Involvement in or driving a project to ensure compliance with either Group IT Infrastructure Standard, Regulatory requirements or Industry Best Practices or to ensure system readiness as per project expectations to support business change requirements.

- Conducts periodic reviews to ensure compliance with IT standards and guidelines.

- Plan and initiate project for adoption of relevant Group IT infrastructure standards.

- Undertake project management and work with vendors if any for system infrastructure projects.

- Complete project scope of works within the required timeline.

- Any other task assigned by management.

- Perform daily systems monitoring to detect any potential system failure and to ensure the systems are at optimum condition.

- Provides 24 x 7 on-call support based on staff rotation.

Communication Requirements

Internal (80%):

- Bi-Weekly team members meeting to provide update, discussion on the issues and action items

- Owned tasks status update to relevant stakeholders and immediate supervisor

- Periodic system issues meeting (internal and external) to discuss on system issues, analyze the root caused, developing and scheduling for remedial plan to avoid recurrence

- Periodic CAB meeting to review and schedule the change

External (20%):

- Often communicate with vendors for information gathering on infrastructure, technical issues, technical advices and project management.

Required Technical and Professional Experience

- Minimum 5 years of experience on Technical Support.

- Familiar with operating systems like OS/400.

- Knowledge on SQL particularly on database like AS400 DB2.

- Familiar with system tools, such as MIMIX, WebSphere MQ, XCOM, AutoSys, Network Security, NETIQ, BRMS, Flashcopy etc.

- Ability to multitask and function in a fast-paced environment

- Individual must be customer oriented, focused on solutions through teamwork.

- Expectations of occasional requirements beyond regular office hours and weekends

- Willing to work for On-Call support on rotational basis.

- Serves as a mentor and provides guidance and training to other team members

- Must be able to learn and adopt current processes and adopt and improve on Standards of Procedures.

- Detail oriented with ability to make sound decisions and work within change control system.

- Good communicator, verbally and written, able to interact with internal and external teams to understand requirements and provide knowledgeable feedback
