Reporting to the Group CEO, this is a fabulous opportunity to make a positive impact within a high-growth organization. The position will hold full P&L responsibility whilst driving all formats (CVS, Super- and Hyper-markets, Pharmacy) for long-term growth and across the end-to-end of the business that will include merchandising, marketing/promotions, supply chain and operations whilst ensuring all teams are aligned and synchronized for optimum efficiency. Operating within an evolving frontier market, there will be a need to lead, manage and motivate within an environment that combines complexity, occasional ambiguity and mixed ability. This will require an ability to craft long-term strategy (store development, expansion, vertical integration, digitalization) whilst remaining close to the business operation to ensure successful execution.
Depending upon the appointment will be CEO or COO depending upon depth and breadth of experience and track record.
The position will be located in Yangon.
Interested candidates will ideally will possess relevant a Degree whilst offering at least 15-20 years’ dedication towards Retail Management (Big Box to CVS). In particular, candidates should offer proven success in growing a modern retail business across multiple formats, preferably in markets which have undertaken a retail evolution similar to that of Myanmar. The person should have strategic vision, high energy and drive coupled with deep operational expertise. There will be a need to demonstrate cultural sensitivity and prior success driving large-scale expansion/growth within a similarly emerging market (such as Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam) with an ability to provide the necessary international, bigger-picture wisdom and an appreciation of how best to translate and align high-level strategy to on-the-ground operations that will deliver financial performance.
