Job Description:

Job-specific accountabilities 
• Works with clients to define and manage the scope, strategy, requirements and implementation of projects

• Ensures that assigned projects are completed within budgets and schedules while meeting client business objectives

• Identifies, analyzes, mitigates, document, and control project risks

• Provides effective and regular communication within the project team, stakeholders, sponsors and management

• Identifies resource needs for the project and establishes roles, expectations, and goals with team members

• Participates in negotiation of contract terms and conditions and insures compliance with contract terms for project consultants and vendors

• Manages multiple small and/or medium-d projects ensuring project deliverables are brought in on time, within budget and quality targets

• Identifies project issues that impact project delivery and escalate to management

• Responsible for assisting in hiring project staff, and developing motivating, coaching, advising and managing the project team

• May manage the technical components of the project or act as manager of personnel, including evaluating personnel

• Liaises between project team, project sponsor and client group

Knowledge & skills

• Ability to think strategically, assess alternatives for short and long term impacts and act decisively

• Knowledge of project planning and tracking tools

• Good analytical and problem solving skills

• Ability to effectively apply project management methodologies and ensure that the necessary technical skills are included with the project team and utilized appropriately

• Some knowledge of technology platforms and environments

• Good understanding of business functions and issues

• Good understanding of annuity products, administration compliance, operations and systems including business desktop applications (i.e. Lotus Notes, Office), and relevant financial products

• Collaborative attitude, willingness to work with team members; able to coach, participate in code reviews, share skills and methods

• Constantly learns from both success and failure

• Good organizational and problem-solving abilities that enable you to manage through creative abrasion

• Good verbal and written communication; able to effectively articulate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes
