Resident Engineer


The Resident Engineer also assists with deployment of your Networks equipment, post cutover activities, and day-to-day operations for larger networks.
Typically, Resident Engineer activities include: -
• Project Coordination
• Analysing network configurations
• Assist in project implementation and compliance of security architecture
• Assisting with network inventory tracking and management to support the network
• Testing Networks product features and functionality
• Providing regular updates on work in progress and current issues
• Developing network and equipment operating procedures
• Evaluating technical specifications for interoperability
• Interface with technology vendors for equipment servicing, training, etc. whether warranty or routine maintenance
• Create and modify user documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs) as required
• Understand, adhere, and facilitate the adherence to Clients SOPs
• Assist in security incidents and provide expertise in remediation efforts
• Securing network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access
• Monitoring network performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages
Requirements – Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
Education and Training: IT related certifications, e.g.
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA);
Interpersonal Skill: Able to work IT support and other datacentre personnel to ensure uptime
