Job Description
GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 
• BAU Operations/Activities as a storage administrator which involves Multi-vendor products.

• End to End storage management responsibilities including data migration, storage administration, SAN fabric Administration, Monitoring and Reporting.

• Provides SAN switch / director monitoring, configuration and support for cisco and brocade products.

• Works with senior peers to develop change management procedures.

• Creates and maintains documentation.

• May require rotating 24x7 on-call support responsibility as well as weekend support.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

· Preferred 4 to 6 years of experience in administering and supporting block & NAS storage products.

· Effective fluent communication and team skills with an ability to work with, present to, and participate with peers/team members.

· Advanced knowledge in administration/management of storage arrays and fabrics.

Ø EMC/IBM/Hitachi/HP SAN enterprise storage array.

Ø NETAPP / Dell NAS products (Isilon is a plus).

Ø IBM SVC/EMC Vplex Virtualization products.

Ø Cisco/Brocade


· Basic knowledge of operating systems and systems administration concepts

Ø Windows, Unix, Linux systems

· Knowledge and experience with data replication concepts and tools.

· Good understanding of storage technologies like FC, iSCSI, NFS, CIFS, RAID, etc.

· Good understanding of storage advanced features like Auto Tiering,

· Demonstrated ability to learn new concepts and technologies as well as a personal commitment to stay current with latest technology concepts.

· Good trouble shooting skills and adept at identifying the severity of the issue, ability to resolve issues quickly and prepare root cause analysis (RCA) by working with Vendor support.

· Good knowledge of ITIL process like incident management, problem management, configuration management and change management processes.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills.
