Role: Teradata Developer with Unix scripting
Location KL Malaysia
Experience : 4 -14 years
Skills & Attributes
Very good knowledge of Teradata and In-depth knowledge of Teradata Utilities like Fastload, Multiload, Tpump, BTEQ, TPT
Very good knowledge of Teradata GCFR Framework and Unix Shell Scripting
Ability to write efficient SQL query building & exposure to query tuning
Understanding of Normalization and De-normalization concept.
Very good exposure to Data warehouse concepts and very good understanding of ETL methodology.
Nice to have
6+ yrs of experience in scripting & developing a TD-DWH application and Ctrl-M
Very good understanding of Hadoop , Ctrl-M-Scheduling and Deployment/Support Skills
Expertise in developing complex dashboards , Visual Analytics
Expertise in TD setup and administration in a Linux environment
Finance and HR domain knowledge is desirable.
Good to have certified in ITIL
Key Responsibilities
Create, debug, and execute Teradata database schemas & scripts, Teradata Decision Expert (TDE)
Integrate scripts across multiple technology platforms (Teradata, Control-M).
Provide support during Testing & implementation
Should have Strong data warehousing background with expertise on the various data warehouse modelling approaches (Must be on Teradata )
Expertise on Teradata GCFR Framework and Unix scripts
Good analytical and creative problem solving skills for the design and development of software
Strong SDLC delivery experience for complex Enterprise BI-DWH solutions
Engaging and follow-up with various source system teams on the data requirement understanding discussions
Engaging business stakeholders to resolve sourcing data understanding gaps, if any
Should have strong domain knowledge of corporate data standards, reference data standards, business glossary terms, etc.
Gathering data sourcing estimations from various source systems and collate them with assumptions & other dependencies
Should have skills for data sourcing project planning & implementation with SDLC standards and to make sure relevant (Quality Maturity Framework) templates are followed
Documenting the sourcing requirement (functional & technical specifications) by working with source system teams
Should have efficient risk/issues management skills & able to highlight to relevant stakeholders at the right time
Should have basic technical knowledge about data files, layout, etc. & to assist team in interacting with source team to obtain files for data profiling/analysis & testing
Engage relevant teams for connectivity setup, test and implementation
Should able to work on data analysis and landscaping
Should have good communication, negotiation & presentation skills. Should be a team player, have "can do" attitude & can think of "out-of-box" approach if situation arises
