New Product/AOI Responsibilities:
Assemble, setup, debug, and modify/optimize prototype and pre-production AOI systems
and modules while working closely with the Design Engineers.
Use custom or off-the-shelf Vision Software to perform duties.
Acquire images of Customer Samples for review, analysis, and pre-Sales activity.
Review images to accurately identify "golden" images and specific defects in images.
Setup, debug and optimize Demo & Production systems in the field.
Train (alone or with others) other MCT FAEs and MCT, Customer, & 3rd-party Applications
Specialists, Salespeople, Operators, and Service Engineers.
Work with Engineering, Sales, Reps, and Customers to understand customer needs,
develop Application-specific solutions, and suggest system enhancements or changes to
meet these challenges.
Learn the designated MCT Products/Product Families and achieve a proficiency to permit
the candidate to install, setup, run, repair, and modify the system without assistance.
Support Marketing and Sales relating to product performance and design
Work with Engineering to understand the latest tools and procedures for optimizing systems
for system setup, performance and service.
Provide feedback on application issues to Engineering for product refinement and design.
Coordinate logistics for equipment delivery/support and venue arrangements.
Work directly with Customers to help them understand and effectively use our products
without disclosing confidential design elements or other customers’ proprietary information.
Perform daily Field Application support functions.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.
Proficient in the use of digital imaging hardware and one or more Machine Vision, AOI, or
Imaging software programs.
A minimum or 2 years setting up, running, repairing and providing a high level support of
digital Machine Vision/AOI Systems (can be part of the overall 5 year FAE experience).
At least 5 years in Field Application Engineering (FAE) or Vision Applications preferred.
Specific related Industry experience (Back End Semiconductor Assembly and Test
Automation or Automated Inspection Equipment in Packaging, PCB, or Semiconductor.)
Proven track record of clearly documenting and communicating issues and project status.
Understands system architecture, can read electrical schematics, has automated motion
systems aptitude, and has logical thinking with experience in troubleshooting techniques.
Must be able to understand and perform complex procedures and processes that are
fundamental to the proper setup & operation of demanding Machine Vision Systems.
Proficient in using general Windows software tools, test equipment (e.g. Oscilloscopes,
Multimeters, Analyzers), Optical Tools and Standards, and mechanical assembly tools.
International technical support experience is desired, but strong local experience is a plus.
Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally >50% of the time to support
customers and product demonstrations, often on short notice.
Other Desired Qualifications:
Vision/AOI/Automated Handling Product trade show experience and a "The-Show-Must-Go-
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with all levels.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Specifically, a demonstrated track
record of clearly documenting and communicating project & product issues and status while
in office or in the field is critical to this job.
Independent self-starter with demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Ability to build rapport and gain trust quickly.
Ability to adapt and thrive in a changing environment while maintaining a professional
