Job Description

The Purpose of Role:

Execute strategy and business plan with our customers and responsible for the achievement of Sales, Market Share and the Profit and Loss (P&L) for the categories/ customers as well as for the implementation and the optimisation of the category strategies within the customer.
Team Structure:

  • Reporting to: Group Customer Development Manager

Key Responsibilities:
Customer Strategy and Business Plan

  • Execute the customer's strategic business plan for his/her respective categories and customers. Work out a joint customer business plan for his/her respective categories and customers.

  • Works in close collaboration with the Category and Channel Team for the category and channel input, and with customer marketing and brand teams for the specific banner/channel plan.

  • Develops optimal integrated promo plan (includes selling the plan to the customer) and manages promo investments.

  • Manages customer promo investment with the customer.

  • Manage the customer P&L for the respective categories.

  • Deliver the agreed plan, and follow-up achievement of counterparts set in the agreement.

  • Consistent monthly and quarterly business reviews of Joint Business Planning/Trade Term with customers through PowerPoint presentation.

  • Data churning and analysis to provide accurate business requirements for business review presentations to customers.

  • Works in close collaboration with regional team (RSM and DTM) to ensure all customer plans are being executed on time in full.

Plays active ambassador role

  • Acts as an active ambassador of Unilever at the customer and of the customer at Unilever.

  • Participates actively in the account managers meetings, looking at the best solution for the business even if not in line for his/her customer.

50% of travelling time is required.
Essential Experience/Skill/Knowledge:

  • Bachelor's Degree in any field of study.

  • Relevant customer development experience with a results-driven/achievement-focused with the end goal in mind.

  • Skilled in developing and implementing customer/channel investment strategies.

  • Experience in Key Account Management/Modern Trade/Distributor Trade-in FMCG industry.

  • Experience in leading a team consisting of internal direct reports and distributor sales representatives.

Desirable Experience/Skill/Knowledge:

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.

  • Field sales experience in a junior managerial role especially in the Central region will be an added advantage.

  • Proven track record of delivery topline and bottom-line results.

  • Proven track record of managing multiple stakeholders, and distributors, and delivering operational excellence.
