The Role Responsibilities
To manage, develop and implement bank-wide internal communications strategies, channels and messaging which deliver relevant and engaging information to staff; support the Bank's priorities; and uphold and reinforce the Group's values and culture. Working closely with/in support of the Global Head of Internal Communications on implementing the Bank's Group Internal Communications Strategy.
  • Responsible for the delivery of strategic communications aligned to our Group/business and functional priorities and leadership vision.
  • To specifically support in implementing a global internal communications analytics and measurement strategy to ensure internal communications in the Bank evolves, is efficient, effective and supports our objectives and cultural change.
  • Scope, develop, implement the appropriate main function/business Bridge spaces and Groups.
  • Preparation of messaging for the MT and their leadership including briefings, call and video scripts and written messages.
  • Write and deliver high quality internal communications content and ensure we are telling more effective ‘stories about the Bank as we engage staff.
  • Act as a champion of the Bridge and other Group internal communication channels, explaining its benefits to users and potential users, and facilitating our network of advocates.
  • Continually learn and key abreast of industry best practice, foster collaboration within the function and other stakeholders and support the Corporate Affairs agenda.

People and Talent
  • Work as part of the Global Internal Comms team to be a trusted advisor to members of the Management Team (MT) and other relevant leaders on Group internal communications messages, opportunities and content, with a particular focus on business communications (Corporate, Commercial and Institutional Banking; Wealth and Private Banking).
  • Work closely with the Management Team and their offices to plan/ schedule key leadership calls, activities, communications.
  • Partner with Corporate Affairs (Regional/country teams, Strategic Communications Partners, colleagues within the Content & Campaigns teams and related communications teams).
  • Work with approved, onboarded external vendors and suppliers especially in the area of video and other collateral (infographics, Wallpaper etc.) collateral and designs.

Risk Management
Adhere to Group Communications Policy as outlined in the CABM Community Bridge page.
For example:
  • -Content upload of content on (Guardrails document as set by CABM COO)

  • Responsible for the planning of key internal communication strategies and the execution of these priorities across the Bank's channels and platforms.

Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

  • At least 5 years of experienced in employee/internal communications
  • Strong creative, project management and organisational skills
  • Independent, adaptable, proactive and resourceful
  • Strong team player, who can interact with colleagues at all levels
  • Able to manage and engage with senior stakeholders
  • Self-starter who can scope, plan and deliver their work effectively, being able to manage and prioritise multiple assignments
  • Good understanding of how to work within a global, matrix and multicultural organisation.
  • Ability to engage and influence senior management.
  • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to write in a concise and engaging manner.
  • Ability to translate issues/ concepts and reinterpret as needed to suit different audience needs.
  • Good understanding of employee/internal communication strategies and the corresponding communication platforms and channels (e.g. videos, intranet etc.)
  • Experience in collaborating across communications disciplines to maximise effectiveness of internal comms and staff engagement.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills and stakeholder relationships especially where it relates to account servicing support.
  • Experience working with design and creative agencies to conceptualise and execute communication concepts as part of a larger creative comms strategy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and simultaneously manage a variety of projects and their timelines.
  • Good understanding and experience working with data to inform and improve communication strategies.
