Job Purpose and Impact
The Associate Director Trade Compliance Excellence - South East Asia will use extensive trade compliance knowledge to identify, document, develop and provide compliance for complex and demanding activities for a region. In this role, you will provide high quality service with focus on continuous improvement. You will develop and implement trade compliance operations strategies, manage processes and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop goals and objectives for the benefit of the business.
Key Accountabilities
  • Develop, implement and enhance regional trade compliance operations management systems and processes to harmonize and align following a scalable framework of standards to secure and facilitate global trade and effectively address new and emerging developments in the international supply chain.
  • Develop trade compliance operations strategy and implement best practices to resolve complex trade compliance issues and operationalize corporate policies and risk control frameworks to comply with government laws and regulations including those administered by the participating government agencies.
  • Identify and document trade compliance operations opportunities and gaps in procedures, partnering with relevant functional experts as appropriate.
  • Foster relationships with government and third parties to ensure compliance and free flow of our goods.
  • Direct and oversee the execution of trade compliance operations training and pre and post transaction review for team activities.
  • Develop metrics to measure and report accomplishments and value created.
  • Leverage industry best practices and single window and supply chain security program management to develop cross border solutions that benefit company businesses.
  • Develop plans and deliver results in a fast-changing business or regulatory environment, while leading and developing a team of experienced professionals and supervisors, coaching and making decisions related to talent management hiring, performance and disciplinary actions. You will also collaborate with managers and supervisors in your organization to ensure staff selections align with current and future needs.
  • Other duties as assigned

. Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
. Deep understanding of international commercial terms, supply chain, and trade compliance operations
. Experience managing compliance with free trade agreements
. Advanced knowledge on customs regulations and free trade zone management
. Minimum of six years of experience in trade & customs compliance in South East Asia
. Other minimum qualifications may apply
. Trade compliance related specialization or license or certification
. Experience in enterprise resource planning (ERP) system with exposure to global trade solutions modules like GTS
. 4 to 6 years of supervisory experience managing a remote team in South East Asia
. Knowledge and understanding in indirect tax compliance
. Hands on experience in risk assessments and managing internal / external audits
