Job Description

Job Purpose:
To provide legal advisory and support to:-
  • All Business Enablers within CIMB, including Gp Strategic Procurement, Gp HR, Gp Risk, Gp Finance, Gp Ops, GAPM, iCIMB on all legal matters
  • All Business Units (Consumer, Corporate, Commercial etc) on service provider arrangements

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft and review of contractual documents and templates including:-
  • Outsourcing agreements
  • Agreements for engagement of consultants and service providers
  • IT contracts and software licensing agreements
  • Contracts with media agencies, collaboration with media partners, sponsorship of events,
  • Event sponsorship and collaboration agreements for CIMB Foundation
  • Real Estate / Landlord & Tenant Matters: tenancy agreements, license agreements, landlord- tenant disputes
  • Software Licensing arrangements, cloud service arrangements.
  • Others- Intellectual property matters, general contractual matters (advisory, opinion, letters of demand etc),
  • Attending contractual negotiations meetings as required
  • Providing legal advice and practical solutions a variety of issues including project implementation, media projects, engagement of consultants, contractual disputes, intellectual property issues; landlord-tenant matters etc
  • Managing and providing regular updates and training to business and management on legal issues including developments in related areas of law;
  • Assisting Regional Head of Legal Corporate Affairs on driving and implementing legal initiatives, identifying and addressing gaps, formulating and shaping legal strategies;
  • At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized jurisdiction
  • At least 4 years experience at a law firm or in-house, focusing on intellectual property matters, corporate/commercial contracts, IT/Telco contracts and issues. Candidates with prior experience in intellectual property law and/or software or technology companies in a high pace, high volume environment will be viewed favourably.
  • Subject matter expertise in Intellectual Property Law, Technology, Media and Telecommunications law, personal data laws and ability to draft a wide varienty of agreements in these areas.
  • Collaborative team players and independent self starters wil be viewed favourably
  • Soud technical knowledge, strong business acumen, good communication skills with high level professionalism and integrity.
