This role requires an individual who will strategically support and tactically be responsible for nationwide Branch's security, operational risk, branch audit, AML and etc. to validate branches adherence to the standards and practices established by the Regulatory and Statutory bodies and Bank's guidelines and policies.
Key Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesFunctional (job responsibilities)

  • Work closely with and provide guidance to RMOs and CSOMs to drive branch operational control readiness at all times delivers branch audit and RCSA pass ratings as per scorecard

  • Ensure all branches risks and compliance indicators i.e. RCSA display 'positive' and 'healthy' trends for all branches ensure corrective actions are taken where necessary

  • Educate branches to maintain a high standard of Audit achievement with zero finding.

  • Ensure branches comply with Bank's SOPs and Regulatory requirements i.e. EDD, UBO, STR, AML and Service standards etc.

  • Oversees housekeeping of datas and/or customers records as and when deem necessary and mandated by Management.

  • Timely delivery of all reportings. Maintain high standard of governance in all reportings.

  • Identify, review and draft Bank's Standard Operating Procedures and/or Policies when the need arises.

  • Work with RMOs/RCMs to monitor behaviors and activities utilizing data/ info obtained from PFS Compliance & Operational Risks, Branch Operations Support, Disciplinary Secretariat, Group Compliance, Group Internal Audit and other divisions to implement timely corrective actions or enhancement as required

  • Work closely with PFS Compliance & Operational Risks, Branch Operations Support and other stakeholders to review, implement and refine control policies and procedures as defined by the Regulatory and Statutory bodies and Bank

  • Undertakes other duties/tasks when assigned by Management from time to time.
Managerial (team/group responsibilities)

  • To set and enforce a high standard of productivity, quality, service levels, compliance and control, as to ensure the team is aligned to the Bank's business direction.

  • Train and develop staff in regulatory and compliance related knowledge and skills to work towards achieving the bank's best interest, to ensure branches operate compliance control effectiveness and efficiency.
Organizational (organizational responsibilities)

  • Introduce, adopt and implement best practices to improve the governance, market response and service.

  • Responsibility to our franchise - put HLBB's long term interests ahead of each unit's short term gains.

Jobholder Requirements
Indicate the minimum requirements expected of a jobholder in order to perform the job satisfactorily
Education/Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Banking & Finance or a recognized professional tertiary qualification in related field &/or with related working experience.
Experience
Minimum 10 years related working experience in Financial Institution, preferably Audit/ Branch Banking Operations.

  • Strong understanding of Branch operations process, management and control

  • Up-to-date understanding of key risk and control concepts, tools and trends relating to risk/compliance identification, rating and prioritization, mitigation and reporting

  • Interpersonal skills in networking and influencing and decision taking

  • Stakeholder management - building relationship and networks.

  • Flexibility and adaptability.

  • Good oral and written communication skills
