About our client
Our client is well known international school.
About the role
We are looking for a strong communicator to oversee and administer of the overall operations of Student Finances, billing and receivables, and cashiering functions of the School. You will report to the School Principal and functional reporting to Regional office Finance Leader. You will have 2-3 direct reports.
Your responsibilities
Bursary (70%)

  • Credit control activities, including:

    • Debtor reconciliations and daily collection reports.

    • Following up with payment from parents.

    • Reminders send out to parents on outstanding fees.

    • Monthly petty cash submission on time with proper documents.

    • Reviewing data through school management system and preparing necessary reports.

    • Liaising with parents on anything fee related.

    • Following up any amounts owing from parents.

    • Meet monthly collection targets set by Regional Office (RO).

  • Ensures compliance with internal and standard revenue, billing and collection policies.

  • Develops and manages annual budgets for the schools and main liaison with the RO finance department with anything budget related.

  • Manages budgets of School Events against the budgets.

  • Supports the School Heads plan, develop, and implements strategies for generating resources and/or revenues for the schools.

  • Supports the RO in the year- end financial audit where required.

  • Ensure form for payments for approved activities are properly filled to facilitate smooth payments in RO.

  • Ensure that School’s performance is within budget. Any deviations should be highlighted to principals and RO Finance.

  • Inputs to be provided to improve school financial performance.

Financial Activities (20%)

  • Implementing and evaluating the success of the School’s finance procedures. Feedback should be provided to RO finance to fine tune procedures.

  • Managing all resources effectively for finance and administration.

  • Developing the expertise of staff in within the finance offices in the Schools.

  • Establish good relationships, encourage good working practices and support the staff within the finance offices in the Schools.

  • Key skill areas are strong leadership, and the initiative to drive financial projects competently with or without assistance as required. The ability to demonstrate excellent organisation, time management and people skills are essential.

You will have

  • 8-10 years of overall experience with strong communication skills in English & Bahasa Malaysia (Fluent), Mandarin an added advantage.

  • Degree in Accounting, or other relevant discipline. ACCA, CPA or MIA would be an advantage.

  • Knowledge and experience of Credit Control and process in maintaining receivables to a minimum.

  • Knowledge and experience of full set of accounts and impact on the organization as a whole.

  • A high degree of computer literacy (particularly Microsoft Excel).

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Good organizational skills and the ability to priorities and manage tasks.

  • An eye for details and accuracy.

  • Have strong leadership, and the initiative to drive financial projects competently with or without assistance as required.

  • The ability to demonstrate excellent organization, time management and people skills are essential.
