Primary Objective:
    Act as the Point of Contact to liaise between Group Retail Credit Risk(GRCR) and Business Units
  • Focus on upskilling of Chapter Members on domain knowledge of credit policies and analytics for the purposes of policy amendments
  • Overall purpose to ensure robust credit assessment in alignment with bank's business strategies and approved risk appetite. Manage policy/business guideline, analytics, credit evaluation and approval functions and provide guidance/directions on the key initiatives of the department to achieve targeted level of portfolio quality and profitability to be in line with overall business direction and risk management framework.
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Manage overall Chapter priorities to ensure objectives set are met
    • Align with SP Lead on the objectives of the Chapter and remove any misalignment
    • Disseminate purpose, mission and direction for Chapter and ensure that all Chapter Members are aligned to the purpose
    • To manage and review all credit policies under Group Retail Banking from Retail Credit's perspective.
    • Pro-actively identify problem areas and opportunities within Retail portfolio with processes, policy and market/industry analysis to enhance profitability of the bank to propose to GRCR to develop, review and execute credit risk policy / guideline for Retail banking products to ensure robust credit assessment in alignment with bank's business strategies and approved risk appetite.
    • Perform credit assessment/impact assessment to ensure that amendment made suits the market trend.
    • Ensure credit evaluation, credit process and credit system are comply with the credit policy guideline, compliance and regulatory requirements
    • Accountable to oversight and review all relevant credit policies guidelines / manuals from Retail Credit Service Partner's perspective inclusive Delegated Lending Authority matrices.
    • Pro-actively identify problem areas and opportunities within retail portfolio with processes, policy and market/industry analysis to enhance profitability of the bank to propose to GRCR to develop, review and execute credit risk policy / guideline for Retail banking products to ensure robust credit assessment in alignment with bank's business strategies and approved risk appetite.
    • Presenting policy/analytical observations and influencing business decision-makers to propose policy recommendations to GRCR.
    • Ensure credit policies/operational manuals/functional manuals consistent with compliance and regulatory requirements.
    • Involve and coordinate in the credit policy guideline review within the division or with stakeholders
    • Closely monitor retail credit acquisition quality and process to manage/improve credit quality at the point of acquisition.
    • Ensure timely policy sharing with Retail Credit Service Partner team and stakeholders in ensuring clear understanding for effective and timely implementation.
    • Ensure credit evaluation, credit process and credit system are comply with the credit policy guideline, compliance and regulatory requirements.
    • Provide policy & credit enablers and support to frontline business unit.
    • Perform annual review of Retail Credit Service Partner functional/operational manual.
    • Actively participate in and manage credit related projects, if any.
    • Execute management action plans and addressing areas of improvement for BNM, Internal and External Audit findings. To comply with the Bank's credit policy and guidelines, Statutory Guidelines and standard procedure/processes.
    • Efficient service deliverance and guidance to Retail Credit Service Partner team and stakeholders.
    • Handling of BNM/Internal/ External Audits requests.
  • Perform duties and work assigned by Circle Lead, Credit Evaluation and Retail Credit Service Partner Lead as and when required.
  • Oversight of Retail Credit architecture for all Operational Risk and Business Continuity Management


  • Requirements
    Requirements:
    Bachelor Degree - Banking, Finance, Economics, Accounting or Business..

    - . Certified Credit Professional (CCP) OR. Professional Credit Certification (PCC) OR. Credit Skills Assessment (CSA) OR. Any equivalent certification.

      Credit related experience - Minimum 5 years or more functional credit experience either in credit policy/credit processing/credit risk analysis.
    Core credit experience - Minimum 5 years or more managing the retail banking portfolio either in consumer or other relevant business units credit portfolio.

Self-motivated & ability to work independently with minimum supervision. Good written, communication and interpersonal skill Possess professional credit certification would be an added advantage.
