Job Description
The Legal Entity Control (LEC) team is part of CIB Finance & Business Management and is responsible for
the local and US financial reporting and regulatory filings of the legal entities in Malaysia. The team has
oversight responsibility for the integrity (completeness and accuracy) of financial statement/regulatory
reporting information recorded in Malaysia entities as well as ensuring an effective financial control
environment. This requires collaboration with the lines of business present in Asia that have activity in that
legal entity to ensure that legal entity implications (e.g., accounting policy, regulatory reporting, capital, etc)
of transactions are considered and with relevant stakeholders, including Product Controllers, Business
Managers, P&A, Tax, Operation, Risk Management, Legal & Compliance, Internal and External Audit.
Job functions/responsibilities
. Assist in preparation of the periodically regulatory reporting for JPM Malaysia entities.
. Assist in month-end financial closing
. Prepare and provide detailed variance analysis on monthly financials reports, proactively seeks for
process improvements.
. Prepare presentation deck for various location Management Committees and Board Committees
. Participate in user acceptance testing of Local regulatory reporting tool implementation if required
. Handle ad-hoc projects with good time management
. Partner and coordinate with the various line of business to drive forth and implement robust controls
and new business initiatives
Specific Requirements
. Broad understanding of banking products.
. Keep abreast with accounting developments / changes and analyze impact and ensure compliance
of these changes
. Familiar with the current local regulatory guidelines and policy pertaining to banking industry.
. Possess strong communication, inter-personal and organizational skills.
. Possess strong understanding of numeric data and analytic skills, with good attention to details.
. Analytical and open mind and a strong team player supporting the regulatory reporting team / LEC
team.
Preferred skills/experience:
. Knowledge of MS Office especially Excel macros may be preferred.
. Regulatory reporting knowledge preferred
. 2 - 5 years experience in audit/ accounting/ banking/ finance industry.
. Experience in project handling and strong people skills.
Education/professional qualification (optional):
. Degree in Accounting/ Finance/ Economics/ Mathematics
. Professional qualification e.g. ACCA
Language requirements:
. English - Fluent communication (both verbal and written).
