Overview
• South East Asia is one of the fastest growing divisions for MasterCard, with markets at different stages of development and maturity for electronic and digital payments, and an acceptance footprint of approximately 2M merchant locations.
• This position Director – Acceptance and Transit Development, reports to the VP Business Expansion (SEA) Market Development. The team is responsible for driving MasterCard business expansion initiatives and partnership programs across SEA.
Role
This position is responsible for:
• Leading the relationships with key ASEAN acquirers and developing tangible value and assets – elevating and deepening the overall MasterCard engagement with acquirers and acceptance stakeholders as a key customer segments.
• Expanding acceptance to realize the vision of a World Beyond Cash – growing acceptance into new and untapped categories.
• Supporting the diversification and transformation of the ASEAN acquiring landscape – addressing and building acceptance opportunities and solutions with QR, Mobile POS, Contactless etc.
• Lead the team lead in the engagements with Transit Operators, Digital Wallet operators, Acquirers and Issuers. He / She will also be responsible in partnering with the Regional Transit team to help drive open loop Contactless payments for Transit and Tolls services across ASEAN.
• Lead RFPs and sales pitches to win new business opportunities – Core business and other Processing opportunities
• Own the Debit eCommerce growth strategy / execution along with the Country team
All About You
• Bachelor's + 10 years of relevant work experience.
• MBA or relevant graduate degree from top-tier institution or similar academic / professional experience; technical background can be a plus
• Strong leadership skills generating support and momentum among functional peers
• Digitally savvy with strong communication and presentation skills
• Good grasp of financial concepts and business case building
• Resourceful and persistent when it comes to identifying new opportunities
• Eager to learn and ability to pick up new knowledge and skills easily
• Flexible and open-minded when it comes to taking on a variety of projects
• Skilled at management reporting and gathering insights from granular data in order to influence decision making
• Ability to deal with ambiguous situations and execute on projects with little instruction in an agile manner
• Flexibility to travel within South East Asia at short notice.
