Job Description

Job Purpose:
  • This position is responsible for creating and overseeing the delivery of sales and marketing programs and services to the facilities and guests by leveraging corporate programs, industry best practices and current trends in the market place.
  • The incumbent shall develop and implement annual sales and marketing plans that maximize profitability far facilities and ensure outstanding service quality for our customers.

  • Leads the development and execution of strategic sales & marketing plans that effectively communicate overall facility sales goals, including strategic directions, key objectives, target segments, strategies, marketing & public relations and Troon programs on an ongoing basis.
  • Leads the development of all facility related pricing and marketing initiatives including dynamic based pricing strategies.
  • Strategically utilizes and understands different revenue opportunities for each facility, including online third-party providers, the local competition and other partnerships or relationships, which offer revenue opportunities.
  • Create sound sales strategies for food & beverage including catered events, weddings and meetings throughout the year.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of golf operations, tee sheet maximization, tournament maintenance schedules and group needs and the key vendor relationships and the tools they offer to support and manage goals.
  • Leads overall facility sales efforts, including management of Sales Managers, as applicable.
  • Participates in the day to day marketing efforts of the facility, working closely with the Director of Operations and key department heals.
  • Continually researches and analyzes local market conditions to obtain an in-depth understanding of competitor's pricing strategies throughout the year.
  • Proactively upsells groups to include food & beverage, merchandise, rentals, etc.
  • Plays a critical role in developing a sales culture throughout all facility operations, maintaining excellent service standards to achieve positive Net Promoter Scores and guest satisfaction.
  • Managers and evolves relationships with key wholesalers, in particular golf travel operators through our
  • IAGTO membership.
  • Develops contacts with corporations, local businesses, civic organizations and charity groups to promote the facility.
  • Creates partnerships and referral programs with area hotels, ensuring that the facilities are kept top of mind with groups and transient guests.
  • Leads overall direction and achieves desired results in attracting select luxury brands in a range of industry sectors to our Corporate Partnership Program (CPP). Ensures all CPP clients receive exceptional service throughout the tenure of their agreement. Liaise and work closely with TAR&H GSM on leveraging existing business partners and attracting new businesses to the program.
  • Maintains the ability to understand golf course inventory during different times of the year, allowing the facility to maximize revenues with ail round types and golf groups.
  • Develops a clear and concise sales process to attract groups, weddings, and catered events. Effectively communicates sales strategies to key stakeholders.
  • Continually strives to enhance sales leadership skills by attending industry shows, educational seminars and other learning opportunities
  • Solicits new and existing busines s lo meet/exceed revenue goals. Methods of sales may include, but are not limited to telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, sales presentations, property tours, customer meetings, travel to key markets and written correspondence.
  • Prepare reports such as annual sales plan, monthly sales reports, annual goals, sales & marketing budgets and forecasts.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining a thorough group database for each facility, allowing high for high quality Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and prompt customer follow-up.
  • Represents the facility on appropriate site visits including golf outings, weddings, catered events and potential meetings.
  • Ensures that appropriate golf staff organizes and execute all group events in a detailed manner.
  • Utilizes social media outlets such as Facebook and Twitter, to generate awareness for the facilities including potential public relations opportunities.
  • Effectively follows-up with clients in a timely manner.
  • Leads the creation of tournaments with local audiences such as Troon Cardholders, Troon Rewards member s, key third-party customers, public golfers, etc.
  • Provides oversight and assistance with the management of the website and search engine marketing campaigns including both golf and food & beverage.
  • Directs all advertising, public relations, and promotional activities.
  • Conducts various meetings such as staff, daily business review, and weekly strategic reservations and yield management. Communicates any changes or new policies and procedures to the department.
  • Administers ongoing sales training programs.
  • Implements policies and procedures for the Sales & Marketing Department, including compliance of all company standards relating to quality of products and services.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Manages key team members that may include, but is not limited to: Sales Managers and Executives; Marketing Managers & Executives, Graphic Designers.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor's degree (BA) and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English and Bahasa Malaysia is required in order to perform the duties of the job Mobility to read, write and speak Chinese dialects a distinct advantage. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Possess a high level of accuracy
