International trade is a trillion-dollar business, with air freight representing 35% of the addressable market. In Southeast Asia alone, the total market is US$4B+, with sector growth driven by a once-in-a-generation opportunity; e-commerce
penetration. E-commerce fulfillment in itself is already a US$2B+ space, growing 30% per year. As an operator transporting
cargo to over 110 airports across Asia, we are at the frontlines of this large, but unsexy space. This white space motivates us to redefine the way the supply chain operates, expand our suite of services to get closer to the end-customers, and to build
products that empower both small business owners as well as large enterprises.
We are looking for entrepreneurial people with a passion for people engagement and helping others with their problems. In this role, you must be comfortable engaging with prospects, pitching services/solutions and have excellent time-management skills. You will be expected to be performing this role on a full-time basis. The role reports to the Country Sales Manager.
A DAY IN A LIFE
As a start up, you can expect your days to be pretty varied. Multitasking is normal, and sometimes, your skills or natural talents will be leveraged to support other business priorities. That said, the bulk of your working hours should involve you having to:

  • Develop a working knowledge of our products and operational offerings

  • Conduct data and information gathering of various customers - this may involve research on the web or directly engaging with customers for information

  • Understand the needs of prospective customers and propose solutions to meet those unique business needs

  • Analyse customer data and based on the analysis identify the best possible operational solution. Where necessary, support the Manager in developing pitch decks

  • Actively seek out new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking and social media

  • Set up meetings with potential clients and assess their needs

  • Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations and demos on products and services

  • Create frequent reviews and reports with sales and financial data

  • Participate on behalf of the company in exhibitions or conferences

  • Negotiate/close deals and handle complaints or objections

  • Gather feedback from customers or prospects and share with internal teams

At the onset, you may be culture-shocked working in AirAsia and with the Teleport team. To help you adapt better, we would like to share our beliefs on leadership. Put simply, you are a leader, we all are leaders and good leaders:

  • Roll up their sleeves as needed, and never delegate work that one would not be willing to do themselves

  • Do what is needed to get things done, as they believe speed is more important than anything else to effect change

  • Over communicate, particularly as they are all quite autonomous

  • Take care of our staff, and treat them as they would want to be treated

  • Are rigid on goals, but flexible on the details

SKILLS
These are minimum-requirement skills and a ‘must-have’ for the role:

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Ability to identify product solutions to meet complex problems/needs

  • Verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, good with people

  • Networking and negotiation skills

  • Highly organized

  • Fluent in English

These are skills that are ‘nice-to-have’ and will make you stand-out in the job application:

  • Multilingual

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree (any field) preferred

  • 2+ years of sales experience exceeding quotas
