APEX TechOps team is responsible to build tools to enable Governance, Risk and Compliance, and performance management tools. We operate in a multi-vendor environment and take an automation-first approach to provide our Grabber with the ability to manage change.
Get to know the Role:
This role requires a mix of hands-on technical expertise and people management skills. We are seeking a passionate Software Engineering Manager who has experience working with API integration, building tools to automate is a plus if you have domain knowledge on designing/developing/managing core internal software systems. You will have the opportunity to work on HR, Security, Operational platform services, and the ability to directly impact the efficiency of Grab.

  • Demonstrated ability to design, build, and deliver complex, successful mobile services and/or experiences efficiently and with quality

  • Proven team leadership, interpersonal skills, and ability to get things done

  • Ability to clearly communicate high-level strategy and technical details effectively across disciplines, locations, and organizations, including to senior leadership.

  • Strong bias for action; ability to juggle multiple priorities and build a sense of urgency in a dynamic environment.

  • Burning desire to build magical experiences and highly available services for our customers

The must haves:

  • A degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or have a similar experience with 8+ years engineering experience on mobile or backend technologies and at least 2+ years of leadership experience.

  • Significant experience as a successful software development leader in large scale, highly available Internet and mobile applications. Experience working for a start-up or scale-up is preferred.

  • Experience leading large teams of engineers and driving large-scale projects and products, in collaboration with product, design, and commercial teams, to succeed.

  • Able to attract, develop, and keep high-quality multi-disciplinary teams

  • Strong communication skills and can act as an advisor, coach, mentor, and partner all at the same time.

  • A cultural role model with a strong sense of humility and empathy coupled with a bias for action and a passionate commitment to engineering excellence
