Job Description

The Business Analyst role will assist Senior Business Analyst or SMEs in defining and establishing business and end-user requirements for existing and new application systems. The role will support in monitoring and tracking to ensure all defined business needs and functional requirements have been met all the way up to User Acceptance Testing (UAT). The person would also be business facing role to understand the new product requirements and working with the relevant Technical delivery team to deliver the solution

Key Responsibilities

Business Requirement Analysis
  1. Receive handover PIF, HLE/ HLS and TSD documents from Project Managers, and assist Business Analyst Managers and Lead Business Analyst in the requirement gathering process.
  2. Receive ITSRs from downstream as well.
  3. Assist Senior Business Analyst, Business Analyst and Testing Lead to develop methods, tools and standards, data validation and documentation.
  4. Assist to prepareestimation for the design and development based on the requirements baselined.
  5. Involve in the process to review any new product rollout for Treasury and guide them on best solution design
  6. Bring the best BA practices in the bank to streamline the whole end to end process with aim to deliver the faster and scalable solution across Treasury and Markets Products.

Unit Testing, System Integration Test and User Acceptance Test
  1. Review test scenarios for UT, SIT, and UAT.
  2. Support and clarify any defect raised for UT, SIT and UAT.
  3. For any defects, business rules to be amended as well.
  4. Coordinate with Level 2 Support for UAT batch run, if required

Conduct Requirements Analysis
  1. Assist and lead management in developing, defining and documenting business personas with regards to roles, goals and challenges of the business.
  2. Receive IDD / Copybook / DR from respective vendors / source system IT Leads.
  3. Perform deep dive analysis into areas of user needs to best understand the issues faced by the business.
  4. Gather, analyze and develop requirements specification and establish operational scenarios and concepts for in-house applications.
  5. Conduct gaps analysis to understand current problems and explore opportunities for future improvements.

Functional Specification Document (FSD) Development
  1. Involved in the development and compilation of Functional Specification Document (FSD) of in-house applications, by incorporating inputs from the BRD, functional, on-functional requirements and data conversion.
  2. Develop Source-to-Business Analyst mapping documents incorporating business rules and prepares classification table.
  3. Establish operational scenarios and concepts.
  4. Incorporate and verify any changes (if any) with the relevant parties before finalization of FSD.
  5. Once sign-off is obtained, assist in updating the Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM) with the FSD reference.

Perform Configuration Information Change Request (CIR)
  1. Prepare Configuration Information Change Request i.e. to provide information on parameter change request before being implemented to SIT / UAT / Production environment. This is raised by the downstream.
  2. Conduct review on CIR.
  • Revise CIR if there are any changes required
  • Send final CIR to Project Management team if no changes are required.

Perform Variation of Order
  1. Prepare FSD addendum / amend existing FSD according to variation, upon confirmation of importance from Senior Business Analyst
  2. Amend existing FSD according to variation and review FSD.
  3. Register / update the RTM with FSD reference for UAT.

Other Responsibilities
  1. Maintains knowledge of relevant products and support methods to provide functionally accurate solution to business users and project team.
  2. Adheres to all applicable procedures, company policies and any other quality or regulatory requirements.
  3. Stay abreast of new technologies and application functionalities.
  4. Provide application support while within the warranty period.
  5. Refine data mapping table.
  6. Define data conversion business rules.
  7. Provide all technical and operational documentations while ensuring application documentation are up-to-date.
  8. Any other responsibilities / tasks as assigned by the management from time to time.

(Basic Degree/Diploma etc)
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting / Business Administration / Banking & Finance / Information Technology or equivalent.

Professional Qualification and/or Regulatory, Licensing requirements
  • Knowledge of CMMI, TMMI, BABOK (Business Analyst Body of Knowledge).
  • Certification in CMMI/ITIL (preferred)

Relevant Work Experience
  • Over 5 years working experience in banking products / customers related.
  • Work or involve in projects from project inception through the entire project life cycle.
  • Experienced with CASE Tools for SDLC Process Design such as ARIS, requirements engineering process and creation of functional specifications.
