Job Description

Application Lead
Collaborate with Business Unit Function Heads in planning and developing annual operating plan that align to the Group IT strategy, in ensuring best business process practices where appropriate for business success.
Accountable for local and sub-regional IT investments, IT budget, High Level Solution and High Level Estimation on budget and costing for all projects, resources and support for a long term basis.
Responsible to deliver IT solution to the market or region based on the agreed annual operating plan. The focus is on local solution delivery for projects that are local or regional.
Serve as the primary liaison for the subject matter experts, foster positive relationships with all stakeholders and ensure appropriate resource allocation across IT and the business line projects.
1.Relationship Management

  • Collaborate with the business leaders to define, influence, and clarify the vision and strategy for business areas.

  • Play an influential role in addressing, supporting and facilitating business needs in responsible process areas, including understanding business processes, their effect across multiple business functions and co-creating solutions to drive efficiencies and reduce costs.

  • Collaborate with business partners to understand user experience, plan projects, analyze and clearly define requirements.

  • Collaborate with business partners and jointly make technology decisions for the responsible process area.
    2.Solution & Demand Management

  • Own and drive solution development for all capabilities for business solutions
    i.e. Corporate Digital Banking, Online Customer Onboarding and Straight Through Payment.

  • Own and drive solution development for all capabilities for both external and internal-facing solutions including High Level Solutions and High Level Estimates.

  • Direct and manage the following functions for responsible process area: planning, analysis, requirement definition, design, user experience, development, implementation.

  • Work with across IT unit to design the proposed architecture and standards.

  • Ensure IT strategy is aligned to the leadership and fully supports IT solutions for regional annual / long range planning processes.
    3.Enterprise Application Delivery / In-House Development

  • Accountable for the development and maintenance of application systems for assigned functional or location area of the organization. Principle focus is on application development and maintenance for varied complex types of application systems.

  • Plan and build in-house development team to support long term BizChannel Vision.

  • Management of IT professionals engaged in the support of applications for business function.

  • Prioritization and allocation of resources to support requests for systems improvements.
    4.IT Strategy & Planning

  • Provide technology leadership in the strategy planning processes.

  • Contribute to the design, development, implementation and continuous improvement of IT processes.

  • Develop and implement the strategy and vision within the defined areas of responsibility.
    5.IT Talent Management

  • Direct and supervise hiring, performance management and resource utilization.

  • Ensure effective and efficient execution of initiatives, including scope, timelines and budgets with clear and strict accountability, to meet committed benefits.

  • Qualifications

  • Diploma/Advance Diploma in Computer Study.

  • Degree in Business Management/Information Technology or equivalent.

  • 10 - 15 years of experience with relevant IT background in established bank/financial institutions.

  • 10 - 15 years of experience in IT management and business analysis.

  • Experience in implementing medium/large project.

  • Experience in working with internal users and external vendors.

    1.Technical/Functional Skills

  • Understanding of business process management, methods and tools.

  • Technical background in IT infrastructure, software development, access management and IT Security.

  • Familiar with various project management tools.

  • Proficient in budgeting and estimation.

  • Ability to understand and perform cost versus benefit analysis.

  • Understanding of the banking related businesses and technology.
    2.Personal Skills (Soft Competencies [Core/Leadership])

  • Strong leadership and people management skills, ability to influence, good organizational ability and time management skills.

  • Ability to build relationships and work well with peers from both business and technology stakeholders and interact effectively with internal and external parties.

  • Ability to plan and priorities work/projects in the team.

  • Display good leadership qualities, high commitment and drive to complete assignments.

  • Stakeholder and relationship management skills to maintain effective internal and external partnerships.

  • Ability to manage and motivate individuals in various working environment to achieve department and company objectives.
