Job Summary
  • Responsible for assessing and advising on regulatory compliance.
  • Support the Group's Compliance framework, initiatives and activities in line with the Group's strategic direction, regulatory and global standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advice business/support units on compliance to laws, rules and standards.
  • Recommend solutions to address specific challenges faced by the Bank in regulatory compliance matters.
  • Identify, assess and advise impact of regulatory compliance risks during new product/services development, process, marketing/promotional campaigns and other related activities.
  • Review submission of relevant regulatory compliance reports/responses to regulatory bodies on compliance matters.
  • Resolve identified issues, and escalate concerns to respective superiors as appropriate to ensure timely awareness of any material concerns, drive compliance related projects bank-wide such as FEA/CRS/FATCA.
  • Analyze cases escalated to Group Compliance to assess and determine any non-compliance to regulations.
  • Review compliance breaches and reports escalated from Business Units/Support Units for reporting to senior management.
  • Provide contents for training materials based on subject expertise.
  • Conduct SME training to stakeholders - eg:- FEA, CRS/FATCA, FTFC.
  • Keep abreast of new legal regulatory and material regulatory changes, new developments and international better practices on Regulatory Compliance.
  • Constantly engaging stakeholders on their key processes with regulatory impact. Report and follow up with the results of the review, gaps and areas of improvement, track and ensure closure of issues.
  • Assist Team members to perform advisory services effectively and efficiently.
  • Supervise junior team members to ensure that assignments meet timelines and objective.
  • Assist to provide advice to senior management and Chief Compliance Officer on issues faced by the Bank on compliance regulatory matters.
  • Assist in consolidation of issues, slides preparation to be tabled at various meetings.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
  • Degree in Accounting/Finance/Banking/Economics/Law.
  • Good command of spoken and written English.
  • Minimum of 5 years managerial experience in a banking and financial Institution with specialization in compliance or legal risk.
  • Knowledge of legislative aspects/regulatory requirements of banking and financial institutions and banking products is a must.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, through all levels of the organization.
  • Possess analytical and critical thinking. Attentive to details and possesses investigative nature.
  • Audit experience is an added advantage.
  • Strong team spirit player with a positive attitude and having the drive to improve processes.
