Job Description

Network Engineers are strong in all the most common and popular networking technologies. In addition to strong technical aptitudes, backed by at least 3 years of in the trenches experience, this person is a good communicator and a person who can manage well when the client is in a pickle and really needs strong guidance. The pace and demands in this environment are usually much greater than an in-house position. This person should be prompt and/or know the importance of communicating ETA's to clients. This person should be skillful at pre-project/work-briefings with each client on each project. This person should then be able to execute with a high degree of success in integrating and/or solving problems in environments rich in Windows Server, Exchange, IIS, Cisco Internetworking, VPN's, firewalls, backup systems (NAS), any open source OS/applications, Mikrotik and more. The more truly capable the engineer is in all these areas, the higher the utility value. 


  • Documentation of Client Networks.
  • Small Projects.
  • Assist Sr. Engineers on Larger projects.
  • T&M service requests.
  • Backup Maintenance.
  • Installation, configuration, troubleshooting and customization of MS Office 365 and Office Suite applications per customer's preferences.
  • Understanding of and ability to design, install, configure, troubleshoot, repair and test workstation/network hardware.
  • Configure file, print and remote access services.
  • Administration, including add/remove users and groups, configure file permissions, check event logs, configure and restore from backup.

  • Administer systems and servers related to the network for the purpose of ensuring availability of services to authorized users.
  • Align network services for the purpose of following the mission, vision, and values of the District and Department. Conduct research on network/server products, services, standards, and best practices for the purpose of remaining current.
  • Coordinate new construction, remodels, and existing facilities network/server (e.g. servers, switches, WAPs, VoIP appliances, and UPSs) for the purpose of completing designs, planning, purchasing, installation, configuration, maintenance, and testing.
  • Develop and maintain data exchanges (e.g. meta data) for the purpose of ensuring network/server services.
  • Develop and maintain network/server test environment for the purpose of having environment for testing purposes. Develop and maintain scripts and utilities for the purpose of automating repetitive routines and administer network/server control systems.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain network/server administrative authorization for the purpose of having policies and procedures.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the processes and documentation for network/server managements (e.g. asset, capacity, change, configuration, continuity, life cycle, problem, release, vendor, and definitive media library) for the purpose of effective processes.
  • Manage network/server services and documentation (e.g. active directory, back-ups, configuration, customer SLAs, disaster recovery, DNS, email, inventory, IP addressing, logical architecture, network traffic monitoring/shaping, non-technical (end user) training, performance statistics, physical architecture, quality control, remote access, security, service, service architecture, service records, technical training, and vendor SLAs) for the purpose of having effective network/server.
  • Provide excellent customer service onsite and remotely for the purpose of restoring service promptly and to resolve problems.
  • • Serve as liaison with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors for the purpose of securing products, services, and SLAs.
  • Support and maintenance of different websites
  • Time to time monitoring and customer support.
  • Designing and delivering the web infrastructure.
  • Exploring and developing new capabilities.
  • Work in collaboration with the other technical staff.
  • Communication of plans and strategies across the team.
  • Provide support and added features for a technology loaded web space.
  • Construct, install and adjust and provide necessary support to the web server.
  • Ensure the compatibility of the website with various website browsers.
  •  Managing the accessing rights of different users to the website.
  • Management of settings of site navigation.
  • Analysing the website traffic and responding to feedbacks.
  • Will have to manage the authority and page security for the site.
  • Maintains relation between Web server and ISP.
  • They need to oversee the website functionality and performance.
  • They are responsible for the overall security of website.
  • Support the entire application lifecycle (concept, design, test, release and support)
  • Produce fully functional mobile applications writing clean code
  • Gather specific requirements and suggest solutions
  • Write unit and UI tests to identify malfunctions
  • Troubleshoot and debug to optimize performance
  • • Design interfaces to improve user experience
  • • Liaise with Product development team to plan new features
  • • Ensure new and legacy applications meet quality standard
  • • Research and suggest new mobile products, applications and protocols
  • • Stay up-to-date with new technology trends
  • • The Network Engineer will also support the other department as and when required
  • • Experience required with Windows desktop operating systems.
  • • Understanding of TCP/IP and troubleshooting Internet connectivity.
  • • Experience with routers and firewalls.
  • • Experience with Terminal Services.
  • • Understanding of relationship between switches, hubs, patch panels and connecting nodes to a network.
  • • Understanding of DNS services.
  • • Working Knowledge of Non Cisco Firewall Technologies - SonicWALL, Linksys, NetGear, Fortinet.
  • • Working Knowledge of Wireless Technologies.
  • • 5+ years Cisco networking products (IOS, ASA, VPN Configuration, VLAN’s), CCNA required, CCNP preferred
  • • 5+ years Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory administration, MCSE preferred
  • • 5+ SAN Administration
  • • 5+ years VMware experience in a High Availability environment with Disaster Recovery, VCP preferred
  • • 3+ years Hyper V (Virtual server solutions) High Availability environment with Disaster Recovery
  • • 2+ years Microsoft SQL Server Database support (Configuration and Maintenance)
  • • Engineer with two to four years’ experience or a degree.
  • • Minimum 2 years’ experience – Cisco Switching, VLAN, Routing, Firewalling Support.
  • • Minimum 2 years’ experience - Server Hardware Technologies (CPU/RAID/SCSI) Support.
  • • Minimum 2 years’ experience - Data Backup and Recovery Support, Corporate Antivirus Support, VPN Connectivity Support.
  • • Has at least one certification. The following certifications are preferred: MCITP, MCP, CCNA/CCDA/CCNP, Project+, Network+, Apple.
  • • Solid dependable engineer, follows directions and maximizes billing opportunities.
