MMP Manufacturing System Engineer
An Manufacturing System Engineer is part of the Operations Improvement team and is responsible for analyzing and optimizing the performance of the BE. You are responsible to identify opportunities for improvement in output, cycle time or cost. You will also design, build and implement a solution
Responsibilities and Tasks
  • Apply industrial engineering concepts to line management, scheduling and dispatching, and production planning
  • Design and coordinate projects with several different departments
  • Work with management to develop applications to continuously improve production metrics
  • Identify optimization opportunities in the BE and create innovative solutions
  • Automate Back End processes to reduce variability and eliminate waste
  • Participate in the creation, maintenance, improvement, and training of software, reports, and metrics used by Production and Engineering
  • Develop, maintain, and improve scheduling and business rules to continuously improve the BE operations
  • Benchmark Micron Semiconductor Backend performance against other Back End sites
  • Strive to minimize capital requirements by optimizing tool performance using static models or simulation
  • Work closely with the production leadership teams to address issues as they arise
  • Drive proactive and continuous improvement projects in areas across the BE using manufacturing methods and processes, quality, software systems, systems, cycle time, key tool metrics.

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical/EEE/IE/Computer Engineering
  • Working experience in database management methods and techniques and software programming or equivalent experience.
  • Deep understanding of statistics, data analysis and problem solving
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Science (scheduling, inventory management, capacity planning, etc.)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with supported areas and peers and gain their trust and respect
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to lead and participate in cross functional teams
  • Demonstrate excellent project/time management and priority setting skills
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with the following applications: Simulation, Queuing Theory, Capacity Forecasting, Statistic, Computer Applications and Programming Languages, SharePoint, ASP.NET, C#, VB/VBA, SQL, JMP, etc.
