In this role you'll supervise a team of QA (Quality Assurance) engineers validating Process Design Kits (PDK) of Custom Design components across process nodes and multiple EDA flows. A PDK is a collection of artifacts that represents Intel's semiconductor process and is used by product designers to model, implement and verify Intel's mobile, desktop and server products before it is manufactured. You'll be a member of the Design Enablement organization and will work closely with the teams in United States, Bangalore and Penang with the goal of building world class PDK QA team at Intel.

In this managerial role, responsibilities include although not limited to:

  • Lead the development of regression test suite and execution of the QA to validate PDK wrt pcells, models, techfiles, runset, parasitic extraction, fill, across multiple process nodes and EDA tools breadth.

  • Lead the development of targeted custom analog testcases to cover the PDK contents, running regressions via automation, debugging/root causing failures, communicate and work with PDK developers, track open issues and drive to closure before release.

  • Manage internal and external stakeholders to collaborate effectively towards project deliverables.

  • Manage both the people and the technical deliverables, in the PDK Custom flow validation, in the PDK team.

  • Conduct performance conversations, coach and develop people.


Qualifications

You must possess the below requirements to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications
The candidate must possess a Bachelors or Masters in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Engineering or another closely related field.

  • 10+ years of experience (candidate with bachelors degree) or 6+ years of experience (candidate with masters degree) in PDK domain

  • Has experience in PDK development, QA and/or customer support.

  • Has in-depth knowledge of the layout and back end flows content of the PDK (Layout Pcells, Layout verification rule decks, Parasitic extraction, DFM flows)

  • Has exposure to a breadth of EDA tools from different vendors.

  • Planning, prioritization, delegation skills are required.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication is a must.

  • Some analog design experience is a plus.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
