  • Develop, apply, and maintain quality and reliability standards for processing materials into partially finished or finished product.
  • Evaluate the materials, process and techniques used in production to meet the requirement of products and production equipment.
  • Specify inspection and testing mechanism, conduct quality assessment (up to and including audits) and perform statistical analysis to determine the responsibility for products and systems that do not meet required specifications.
  • Deliver standardization in product qualification, manufacturing quality systems and methods.
  • Provide feedback to the Business Unit, Technology Development and/or partner engineering group on design or method and statistical process control procedures including manufacturing systems in High Volume Manufacturing (HVM).
  • Determine reliability requirements and automated screening methodologies of components and systems to achieve company, customer and any governmental agency reliability objectives.
  • Develop new acceleration techniques, analytical tools and quality screens to assure the early identification of potential problems with new products, packaging, processes, and product quality and/or reliability.
  • Respond to customer requests or events as they occur. Make recommendations for changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process and/or product reliability.
  • Responsible for designing reliability qualification plans, executing reliability qualifications, performing data analysis, and failure analysis.
  • Work with teams to design appropriate reliability test structures and signs off on new silicon photonics masks.
  • Work with teams on long-term product improvement or corrective action implementation, as necessary.
  • Responsible for writing and/or updating rel reports.

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optical Science, or related technical field.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience with characterization of high speed modules (SoC/optical) or server boards and systems: components and structure, assembly principles, operation, test methods of performance and reliability, and failure analysis
  • Experienced in using data analysis tools and scripting (JMP etc)
  • At least 2 years experience with high speed IC testing (analog characterization) and test automation
  • 1+ year experience in bench-top optoelectronic device/module testing
  • 1+ year(s) experience with reliability testing of ICs/optical components
  • 1+ year experience with semiconductor device physics (lasers, detectors, modulators etc)
  • 1+ year(s) experience with testing systems, including hardware and software (Matlab, LabView)
