Actuarial knowledge and skills are necessary in various aspects of insurance business, e.g. product design and pricing, product configuration and modelling, analysis of the company's claims, persistency and expense experience, arrangement of reinsurance, calculation of reserves and profit reporting under various regulatory bases.PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist the Team Lead in providing technical and strategy supports on implementation of various company business projects. This includes BAU product delivery, Optimal migration, medical repricing project, bonus revision project and other business initiatives.
Supervise and/or provide guidance to junior member in performing scoping of actuarial requirements into the Master Spreadsheet Models. Ensure the adherence to basic principles of modelling. Ensure no or limited impact to the existing products after the incorporation of new requirements through sample testing. Manage sign-offs of Master Spreadsheet Models. Work closely with Business Analysts for the development of integration requirements.
Set up and run VPMS model. Ensure accuracy of calculations and business rules modeled. Compile test results and prepare documentation for testing sign-offs. Accurate and timely delivery of VPMS model.
Assist in the defect analysis and resolve migration defects arising from User Acceptance Test (UAT) and Ongoing Reliability Test (ORT). Provide and recommend solutions to address defect incurred for decision making purpose. Proper documentation of defect analysis and solution.
Provide supports to the actuarial department on transforming the actuarial processes to be more cost and time effective. Ensure the actuarial business model is sustainable for long term.
Provide actuarial support and analysis to other departments as necessary. Correct and timely provision of actuarial advice.

  • Degree in Actuarial Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Physics or other physical sciences or numerate discipline

  • Actively pursuing professional actuarial examinations

  • Minimum two years of working experience

  • A numerate and analytical mind

  • Proficiency with programming tools (e.g. Visual Basic)


  • Practical knowledge in Prophet (preferred) or other projection software would be preferred but training will be provided otherwise

  • Must be meticulous with the ability to work under pressure

  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work under minimum supervision
