Creates, defines and develops system validation environment and test suites. Uses and applies emulation and platform-level tools and techniques to ensure performance to spec. Responsible for the development of methodologies, execution of validation plans, and debug of failures. Requires broad understanding of multiple system areas and requires interfaces with Architecture, Design, and Presilicon Validation teams in improving postsilicon test content and providing feedback for future on-die debug features.
This role is an interesting and challenging combination post-silicon validation + applications engineering. You will have the opportunity to work on direct customer issues and may interface with the customer.
Responsibilities include:
1. Develop collateral such as HandBooks, DataSheet
2. Create protocol specific use models,
3. Author application notes,
4. Perform protocol specific characterization and author characterization reports.
5. Work with IP teams and customers to ensure proper usage of the eASIC SERDES for various applications and protocols
6. Define methodology for high speed serial IO measurements
7. Validate PCS and PMA blocks of the transceiver
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of SERDES and/or protocols such as PCI-Express, 10GBASE-KR/SR/MR/ER/LR, JESD204x, CPRI/OBSAI, DisplayPort, HDMI, VbyOne etc
  • Experience with 28G+ SERDES speeds, or related
  • Experience in Verilog/VHDL, C/C++,
  • Experience w/ FPGA Design and Tool Flow, Quartus preferred
  • Ability to in Perl, Python, and Matlab
  • Hands-on experience with high-bandwidth oscilloscopes, BERTs and associated lab equipment for SERDES characterization
  • Knowledge of basic Communications System Theory as it pertains to SerDes specifically, including PLLs and Timing Recovery (CDR).
  • Exposure to SI concepts, including sources and causes of noise and jitter.
  • BSEE/MSEE with 10+years of relevant experience
