The Role Responsibilities

Role Overview
This role resides within the Standard Chartered Bank's Technology Business Management Office, under T&I, Governance & Change organization. The TBM Office is responsible for delivering greater cost transparency through the TBM program, engaging with stakeholders across the organization in adopting TBM best practices and embedding the discipline of managing IT like a business. The team is responsible for the management and ongoing enhancement of the Apptio platform at Standard Chartered Bank
The Senior TBM Business Analyst will be responsible for:
  • Leading the stakeholder engagements with the SCB T&I community to design solutions and deliver user cases that address business needs and helps build a greater understanding of IT costs
  • Managing the deployment of the new Cloudability functionality at SCB and develop with T&I stakeholders use cases to deliver quantifiable value to the firm
  • Driving insights into Technology Costs and where efficiencies can be made
  • Understand shifting business services, requirements, and data
  • Facilitating the training of new Apptio users
  • Partner with the broader T&I organization as an SME in technology business management and cost transparency to maximize the value and impact provided by the technology organization
  • Ensure that the TBM solution is an active and key part of the IT decision-making process through evangelizing and coaching stakeholders in the benefits of the solution
  • Drive stakeholder engagement and the adoption of the TBM solution to support the organizations strategic objectives
  • Gather functional & business requirements from T&I and T&I Finance stakeholders and translate them into TBM Use Cases that meet customer needs and maximizes solution value
  • Work with the Apptio vendor to channel feedback and solutions into future releases of the product
  • Work with other members of the TBM Office to identify common elements across the Bank and develop best practices
  • Collaborate with other departments to promote customer satisfaction and resolve user's issues in a timely fashion
  • Translate executive vision into technical requirements and subsequent deliverables
  • Act as a single point of contact for Business CIOs and IT Partners on Cost Transparency and Technology cost topics
  • Build relationships across multiple facets of the organization to partner in delivering efficiencies, optimizing investments, measure, and track performance
  • Research and bring best practices in the TBM space into SCB TBM Office on making a constant improvement to make it better for SCB and build up a best-in-class TBM practice for SCB
  • Drive adoption and evolution of Apptio through the provision of business insights, actionable cost drivers, and regular business engagement
  • Support the business areas in their use of the solution and capability to align to business outcomes and maximize the value of IT for the organization
  • Engage with the Apptio vendor on an ongoing basis to review the performance, use cases and value of the service
  • Track user requirements and initiate changes within the TBM model to satisfy evolving requirements and developments within the business.
  • Design report wireframes as required to meet the evolving needs of the stakeholders
  • Create test plans that validate components, and build confidence in the TBM solution
  • Ensure that all financial reporting is harmonized with the view of T&I finance and control advocated by the relevant CFO communities
  • Identify any new data sources that might enrich the Apptio model and make provisions to incorporate them into the model
  • Work with data owners to assure all data is sourced with completeness, quality, and timeliness
  • Support the TBM Office program to train our stakeholders on the Apptio solution

Required Experience and Skills
  • Detailed knowledge and experience working with the Apptio platform
  • Specific knowledge and application of IT services and financial management including budgeting, cost allocations, capital & operating expense handling, program portfolio management, and application / infrastructure support
  • Operational knowledge of IT infrastructure domains including cloud, data centers, network / communications, server utilization, virtual environments, storage, and application development & maintenance
  • Operational knowledge of Application Life Cycle or Agile Application Development experiences with IT infrastructure domains
  • Knowledge of Cloud Technologies especially some general understanding of AWS/Azure products in the IaaS and PaaS space
  • Expert skills in data analysis/manipulation to help drive tangible insights from the data to bring value to T&I stakeholders
  • Financial services industry experience required

Good to Have
  • TBM certification: Certified Technology Business Management Executive (CTBME)
  • Project management certification: PMP by PMI or CBAP by IIBA
  • IT service management best practice framework certification: ITIL
  • Experiences with UI/UX or Dashboard design
  • Undergraduate university degree in Accounting, Engineering, Finance, Computer Science, MIS. MBA or similar graduate degree desired
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Self-starter: able to come up to speed on complex, difficult concepts
  • Client-focused attitude - a customer advocate who can distinguish between technical & organizational problems and plan a solution designed to leverage the strengths of both
  • Team player with solid communication and presentation skills
  • High-level knowledge of enterprise IT organizational, business, and technical environments
  • Skilled at completing technical design via iterative mockups
  • Proven ability in working with a multi-discipline, geographically remote and diverse team
  • Proven ability as a process advocate and subject matter expert
  • Financial data analysis experience is a plus
  • Training / certification in ITIL or equivalent is a bonus
  • Possess a high ability to learn new things, especially about new technology developments.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical and time management skills
  • Ability to respond to stakeholder and colleague queries in a prompt and complete manner
