Server Engineer (Linux)-
Activities to be performed :
Break-Fix, and escalation to 3rd party vendors.
Performance monitoring and management.
Configuration management.
Capacity management & reporting.
Installation services.
Administration and support (including OS & hypervisor for Servers).
Access Management.
Maintain Disaster Recovery readiness.
HW and SW Currency and patch management as per compliance.
Documentation for all operational procedures, services, and system configurations.
Planning, installation, up-gradation (H/w, release updates, service pack updates, and
Operating System utilities), configuration, & documentation of new or existing servers (including OS, 3rd-party software).
Project consultation and implementation of the new infrastructure deployments and upgrades.
Manage system security as per Client standards.
Support of the operating systems, subsystems, products, and operational tools.
Examples include but are not limited to:
– Create, maintain, and delete volumes and directory structures.
– Assign account, work group, and print managers.
– Administer directory distribution and replication.
– Define and manage resources and domains.
– Enable passwords for Supported Servers to use to connect with other servers or the network.
– Support security mechanisms.
Technical system support, handling incident management requests, collaborative problem identification and resolution, and performance tuning of the operating system and related software.
Participation in creation, testing, and execution of Disaster Recovery plans/activities.
Development & implementation the currency management process.
Schedule and coordinate operating system testing and implementation with the Client Focal Point.
