Storage & SAN Administrator
Job Requirement:
1. Incident and Problem Support:
o Provide Level 1 & 2 support involves break/fix, troubleshooting, configuration, software , patch installation , administration, and fixing other infrastructure related issues.
o Identify, troubleshoot, solve and document SAN network connectivity and storage performance issues.
o Performance analysis, tuning, and optimization on various hardware platforms
o Coordinate with monitoring team & principal vendors for network & storage hardware repair / break-fix support.
o Act as a point of escalation for administration personnel on critical technical issues
2. Configuration Backup & Restore:
o Perform backup of network device configurations on a regular basis for network components
o Perform storage administration, capacity planning, snapshot & replication.
o Developing a storage management program and providing for routine backups
o Schedule & manage tape / disk backup & restore
o Implement and maintain emergency backup and restore systems for mission-critical network servers.
3. Operational Support
• Maintain & Update detailed documentation ( Diagram , Inventory , IP addresses )
• Perform operational tasks that help storage, network and security to run smoothly and efficiently
• Monitor HPE 3PAR , SAN network performance and optimize the equipment’s for optimal performance and availability.
• Install, configure and maintain SAN network hardware
• Prepare Method of Procedure , Technical design , Implementation , Post Incident Report documentations
• Act in a trusted advisor role for Data Intensity customers, and offer expertise into their Infrastructure.
• Configure and maintain virtual storage clusters, physical-to-virtual conversion of servers.
• Configure and maintain the environment for High-Availability and Data Recovery.
• Assist with development of disaster recovery plans and Participate in periodical Disaster Recovery testing / support /service request
• Developing a storage management program and providing for routine backups
Job Description:
• 5 years and above experience as a storage, SAN network administrator role.
• In-depth knowledge of surrounding technology concepts related to storage, application support and networking
• Familiar with HPE 3PAR storage , HPE network switches , HPE & Brocade SAN switches ,Veritas NetBackup , Veeam backup software.
• Proven production service trouble-shooting skills that span applications, systems, storage, and SAN network
• VMWare management/ administration experience
• Excellent server hardware/software, storage array, network experience
• Knowledge of Windows, and Linux OS through server version 2016
• Must have demonstrated understanding of networking technologies, such as SAN switches , load balancing, firewalls, routing, switching, and TCP/IP.
• Experience SAN performance monitoring and tuning, tiered storage, business continuity and disaster recovery strategies and Quantum tape libraries, including LTO4,6.
• Experience with Fiber based networks as well as NAS/DAS/ISCSI
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong presentation and customer-facing skills
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations and maintain professional demeanor
• Experience in a multivendor environment or business with many internally supported units
