Your responsibility as a Tendering Specialist is to create, and complete bids/estimations/quotations based on customer specification or customer requirements/budget in order to achieve both market competitiveness and high margin for the company, in electrification business, in Subang Jaya, Malaysia. Reporting to the Product Marketing Director, your attention to detail and ability to negotiate with multiple partners will be vital to this key component of project planning.

Your responsibilities

  • Formulating competitive bids/estimates/quotations, considering best available product mix and appropriate technical and commercial considerations for each individual situation.
  • Establishing and maintain effective customer relationships to understand customer needs. Ensure a positive customer experience throughout the sales process
  • Identifying potential vendors for equipment and materials required in the project and technically evaluate supplier offers to check match with specifications
  • Ensuring tenders are well documented in a timely manner and with appropriate level of detail, including full and accurate costs.
  • Managing the preparation of all technical, financial and if necessary, project management aspects of the bid/estimate/quotation, indicating prices and trading conditions.
  • In accordance with bid/estimate/quotation planning, ensure that inputs for editing activities are provided on time and according to established quality procedures.
  • Identifying potential risks in the bids, quotations and estimates, and in any related contract agreements across customers/channels
  • Collecting and collate all information needed to prepare the proposal, including both technical and cost elements

Your background

  • Should have a diploma or degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Tendering and Sales, with knowledge and experience on MV & LV products and solutions for electrical distribution systems.
  • Knowledge on contract terms and conditions.
  • Understanding of currency hedging, letter of credit, import duties and sales & service tax calculations in Malaysia will be an added advantage.
  • Able to demonstrate high attention to detail, ensuring the accuracy of work completed, taking a co-operative approach within the team and the organization, sharing knowledge and information.
